About Us

I first fell in love with rabbits when my family purchased a couple for our 4-H project. I participated in 4-H for a year but stopped due to COVID-19. However, my love for rabbits continued. We had rabbits on and off for a couple of years. Then, I saw a rabbit on an online auction and instantly fell in love! I purchased Queen, a proven New Zealand doe. I devoted all my time to researching and earning money to buy feed and everything else needed. I learned everything I could to ensure my rabbits would be happy and healthy.

As I started working with the silver fox breed, I discovered how much love I had for the breed! They were not too large, came in multiple colors, and could be raised for meat, fur, and show. It was the perfect breed for me, so I purchased my own Silver Foxs. I have been raising Silver Foxs ever since.

My family is my number one supporter, helping me through tough times and celebrating the good times with me.

I am a teenage girl striving to do what I love. I am passionate about my rabbits; they are not just my hobby but also my pets. Silver Bliss Rabbitry is my rabbitry, and although my family provides significant support, I finance my rabbitry and care for the rabbits myself.

The Silver Fox Breed

The Silver Fox was developed in the 1920s by Walter B. Garland in North Canton, Ohio. It’s a large, heritage breed, known for both its beauty and its usefulness. Adult bucks usually weigh between 9 and 11 pounds, and does between 10 and 12 pounds.

One of the most striking things about the Silver Fox is its unique coat. The fur is long, dense, and stands up when you gently brush it backward. The silver ticking throughout the coat gives it a frosted, almost sparkling look.

The breed is recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association, and right now ARBA accepts only Black and Chocolate Silver Fox for show. Other colors are being worked on by breeders, but Black and Chocolate are the official show varieties at this time.

Silver Fox rabbits are known for their calm, friendly temperament, which makes them wonderful family rabbits and easy to work with. They’re also a great dual‑purpose breed—their size and fast growth rate make them excellent meat rabbits, and their beautiful pelts are highly valued for that dense, silver‑ticked coat.
